Overview

An outgrowth of the University's 1999 Campus Master Plan, the South Campus building plan is divided into two phases with the first scheduled for completion or near completion by 2008, and the second, long-term phase slated for completion after 2008 and by 2020.

Goals

The goals of the the South Campus Plan are to:

  • Provide for academic, student life, administrative, and support space needs beyond the foreseeable future
     
  • Establish an active streetscape along 61st Street creating a high quality edge
     
  • Improve linkages between the south campus and broader University
     
  • Create a south campus environment which includes needed amenities and services
     
  • Provide parking and infrastructure support for efficiency and projected growth
     
  • Continue to support the ongoing revival of the Woodlawn neighborhood in accordance with the community’s Quality of Life Plan
